Dr. Ali Edmond grew up in Whitehorse, Yukon.  She was introduced to the Okanagan while visiting family in her youth.  When UBC Okanagan opened in Kelowna, she jumped at the opportunity to gain an education from a prestigious institution in an area that she already knew and loved.

After graduating from UBCO with her BSc in Microbiology, Dr. Edmond Obtained her DDS (Doctor of Dental Surgery) Degree from the University of Alberta.  During her time at U of A, Dr. Edmond found a passion for community outreach as chairman of SHINE Dentistry, a free clinic in inner-city Edmonton.  Now that she is settled in the Okanagan, she hopes to find ways to get involved with and give back to her new community.

Dr. Edmond is devoted to constantly improving her knowledge and skills with continuing education.  She is a member of the Kois Center for Advanced Dental Learning based out of Seattle, Washington, where she is frequently attending to work through the core curriculum at every opportunity.  In addition, she has completed level 2 certification at PTIFA (Pacific Training Institute for Facial Aesthetics) for the use of botulinum toxin (Botox®, Xeomin®, Dysport®) for cosmetic procedures on the upper face and pain management.

In her free time, Dr. Edmond enjoys spending time with her family and taking advantage of the beautiful Okanagan scenery and weather.  In the summers, she can be found hiking, kayaking, and attempting to grow unreasonable amounts of vegetables on her small deck.  In cooler seasons, she spends more time indoors with her husband and two rambunctious cats, but still insists on going for walks outdoors on every day off.
