Your dental plan is a form of compensation provided by your employer. For your convenience, we directly bill the carrier (insurance company) for services provided based on your benefits. That portion is determined by the contract between your employer and the insurance company. The higher the premium paid by your company, the more generous the benefits. Any fees not covered based on your policy are due at time of service.
Although we are not a party to the contractual arrangement with your insurance company, we do want to help you receive the maximum benefits to which you are entitled. As a convenience to you we will process your insurance claims in order for you to receive this maximum benefit. We will also provide dental x-rays and a written diagnostic report should your insurance company have any questions about the services provided.
At all times, you can be confident that we will always provide you with the best treatment options and services. We make our recommendations based on the Principle of Risk Reduction to ensure long-term dental health; not on the limitations of your dental plan.
Direct Billing of Insurance
As a courtesy to our patients, we will process your dental claims and accept direct reimbursement from your insurance company for treatment provided. Estimated patient portions are due at time of treatment.
While we do our best to help you obtain and provide accurate information regarding your dental insurance, our office direct bills over 100 different insurance companies. Due to the Privacy of Information Act, it is becoming increasingly difficult for a dental office to obtain information regarding your personal dental insurance coverage including limits, amount of coverage or explanation of benefits.
Please become completely familiar with your dental plan. Plan limitations and benefits often change yearly. Provide us with accurate information and immediately inform us of any changes.
Please ask for clarification from our administrative staff if you are unsure of any treatment or associated cost details.
Summerland Dental Centre recommends treatment on the principle of risk reduction for long-term dental health; not on the limitations of your dental plan.
At all times, the patient is responsible for all fees not settled by their insurance plan(s).
Summerland Dental Centre Fees
Summerland Dental Centre uses the B.C. College of Dental Surgeons Fee Guide as a guide to our fee schedule. However, many dental insurance companies have limitations or follow different fee schedules that may or may not reflect the fees of SDC.
Please ask for an estimate for all treatment prior to your appointment. Differences in fees are due at time of treatment.
Payment Options & Financing
For your convenience, Summerland Dental Centre accepts Cash, Debit, American Express, Visa and Mastercard as methods of payment. We deliver the finest care at the most reasonable cost to our patients, therefore payment is due at time of service unless other arrangements have been made.
Financing Options are available through CARE CREDIT. Please ask our administration staff for more details or visit www.carecredit.ca for more information.
