Dr. Mike Abougoush grew up in Kelowna, BC. He did his undergraduate Science degree at the University of British Columbia while playing Junior Varsity and Varsity hockey with the UBC Thunderbirds. He graduated from UBC Dental School in 2001, and after working several years in the lower mainland, moved back to the Okanagan in the summer of 2005.
Dr. Abougoush continues advanced levels of study in all aspects of dentistry. He is currently an active member of the Kois Center for Advanced Dental Learning based out of Seattle, Washington, with Dr. John Kois. He graduated from the program in 2009 and is now a Kois Center Mentor.
Dr. Abougoush took most of his advanced surgical training in implants and oral surgery with Dr. Norm Ickert at the Ickert Implant Training Centre. He has also taken advanced courses with world-renowned specialists such as Dr. Fouad Khoury and Edward P Allen in their respective fields of hard and soft tissue grafting.
Dr. Abougoush works hard so he can enjoy quality time with his wife and 3 kids. He enjoys coaching his 2 daughters and son in a myriad of sports, including hockey, soccer, lacrosse, gymnastics, skiing, and water sports….when they have a brief respite from these activities, they enjoy family movie nights, RVing in spring and fall, rollerblading, and riding their bikes.
