I was first introduced to Dr. Michael Abougoush when he opened his dental practice in Summerland and have been extremely pleased with the work he has done for me.
I came to him with unstable upper bridgework supported by too few remaining teeth. Dr. Abougoush fitted me with an upper denture which is held securely in place by 8 implants. The denture is strong and comfortable -- it almost feels as though I have my own teeth back -- and I can once again bite into a steak with gusto!
Dr. Abougoush is enthusiastic about his profession, incorporating new procedures with skill and ease. I have confidence in his abilities and judgement. He is genuine and relates very well to others.

In the past 2 years I have had very extensive dental work performed for me by Dr. Michael Abougoush, which included root canals, crowns and multiple dental implants. I think Summerland residents are very fortunate in having such highly qualified service available without haveing to travel to Kelowna or a larger center. The professionalism, care and attention that I have received from Dr Abougoush and his staff is exemplary and I have no hesitation in recommending their work to anyone.

I went on line to find a dentist in the Summerland or Penticton area that was taking new patients. I was pleased to be able to get an appointment in a prompt fashion with Dr. Abougoush considering I was having some discomfort with a bad tooth. They took care of my immediate concern, relieving me of pain and discussed future options available to me. The pros and cons of each option were fully explained as well as the consequences of no treatment at all. I appreciated how Dr Abougoush provided all treatment options, and helped me decide on the best treatment with regard to my financial situation.
The patient care and follow up is the best I have ever found - with phone calls on the days they were not even open to see how I was fairing after complex treatment and if I had any questions.

My dental history might be described as "years of fear" . . . until I discovered Dr. Abougoush at Summerland Dental Centre.

Fifty years ago when I had my first fillings the science was still crude and pain pierced the "freezing" barrier regularly. That experience fixed me with a very negative and fearful mindset about dentistry. I was not only phobic about the freezing needle, but terrified by the sound of the drill echoing in my skull.

In trips back to dentists all the way from St. Catharines to Edmonton I've been impressed at how the technology has improved. Coming to the Summerland Clinic integrated those things in my mind. From the first meeting, Mike and his assistants, Carly and Amy, showed me that they were interested not just in fixing teeth, but in making the experience a positive one for me. They encouraged me to talk about my fears, and gave me the feeling that the treatments were not just something they were doing to me, but that they were a healing process that we were doing together. That cracked the old mindset. When it came dental procedures I can say my experience there was totally pain free, including freedom from the psychologiocal pain of fear. This dental team included the whole me in their wishing to do a good job, and the result was an excellent rapport amongst us all. Plus my whole mouth got fixed better than I ever imagined!

I would like to thank Dr Abougoush and especially Jolene and Carly who worked on me so much I feel like we're friends! You all made a not so pleasant experience bearable, always concerned that I was comfortable, follow up telephone calls, always being able to get short notice appointments for all the adjustments. I never would have been able to tolerate all that I did, since my previous dental experiences were not as pleasant. You are to be commended for your professionalism and courtesy. Thank you so much, really smile a lot now!
